Privacy Policy
Last updated: 21 July 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Lazerbeam.io (“Lazerbeam”, “we”, “us” or “our”) handles personal information. We are an Australian field-service automation platform and we handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
1. Who this policy applies to
This policy covers personal information we collect about the people who run and use the Lazerbeam platform (our account holders and their team members), and visitors to our website. Where you use Lazerbeam to manage your own customers, you control that customer information and we handle it on your behalf. Section 6 explains that relationship.
2. Information we collect
We collect information you give us and information generated when you use the platform, including:
- Account and business details — your name, email address, phone number, business name, and role.
- Content you enter — customers, sites, jobs, quotes, invoices, notes, photos, timesheets and similar records you create in the platform.
- Billing information — your plan and billing history. Card payments are processed by our payment provider (Stripe); we do not store full card numbers on our systems.
- Usage and device data — log data such as IP address, browser type, pages viewed and actions taken, used to operate and secure the service.
- Communications — messages you send to us for support or enquiries.
3. How we use your information
We use personal information to:
- provide, maintain and improve the platform and its features;
- set up your account, authenticate you, and keep the service secure;
- process your subscription and payments;
- send you service messages (for example billing notices, security alerts and product updates);
- provide customer support and respond to your enquiries; and
- meet our legal and regulatory obligations.
4. When we disclose information
We do not sell personal information. We disclose it only where reasonably necessary, including to:
- Service providers who help us run the platform, such as our payment processor (Stripe), SMS provider (ClickSend), email provider (Postmark), accounting integration (Xero, where you connect it) and our infrastructure and hosting providers. These providers may only use the information to perform services for us.
- Authorities where required or authorised by law, or to protect our rights, users or the public.
- A successor in the event of a business sale, merger or restructure, subject to this policy.
5. Cookies
We use a small number of cookies that are essential to the service, principally a secure, httpOnly session cookie to keep you signed in. We do not use third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. You can block cookies in your browser, but the platform will not function correctly without the session cookie.
6. Data you process about your own customers
When you use Lazerbeam to run your business, you decide what customer information to enter and how it is used, and we process it on your behalf to provide the service. You are responsible for having a lawful basis to collect and use that information, and for obtaining any consents required before sending marketing SMS or email through the platform (see the Spam Act 2003(Cth) and the ACMA rules). Lazerbeam provides tools to record consent and to honour unsubscribe and STOP requests, but you remain responsible for how you use them.
7. Storage, security and overseas disclosure
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access, including encryption in transit, access controls, encrypted secrets, regular backups and optional two-factor authentication. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Some of our service providers (for example our payment processor) may store or process data outside Australia. Where that occurs we take reasonable steps to ensure the information is handled consistently with the APPs.
8. Retention
We keep personal information for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period afterwards, or for as long as we need it to provide the service, resolve disputes and meet our legal obligations. You can export or request deletion of your data as described below.
9. Accessing and correcting your information
You can access and update most of your information directly in the platform. You may also ask us to access or correct personal information we hold about you by contacting us at the address below. We will respond within a reasonable time and may need to verify your identity first.
10. Complaints
If you have a privacy concern or complaint, please contact us first and we will work to resolve it. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here and change the “last updated” date above. Significant changes will be notified through the platform or by email.
12. Contact us
